Snowy Sherman Beach

We continued our exploration of the wintry Meramec River with a visit to Sherman Beach this morning. Although Sherman Beach is just upstream from Castlewood, the two beaches vary a bit. Sherman Beach is rocky rather than sandy, and it is littered with large mussel shells perfect for collecting. The boys like that the trains cross the river right over the beach rather than in the distance. There was less snow at Sherman than Castlewood, and the ice is considerably thicker. Will and Quinn made attempts to break the ice by throwing large rocks. They also brushed up on their ice skating skills a bit.

Great pics.

I should definitely check that out...cian would be in heaven. Rocks, trains, ice/water, what else could he want?
