Bird Watching

With Grandma's binoculars in hand, the boys were stoked for their first "birding" trip. Will spots a pair of mallards flying overhead, while Quinn patiently waits for the his turn with the "pinoculars."

From the beach, Will searches the skies for birds. Although he could not locate the geese whom we could hear, he did spot some crows.

Quinn watches as blue herons fly above the trees on the opposite side of the river.

By the way, your header photo cracks me up, because there are these Flickr moms that follow various weekly rituals--you know how girls like to do things in packs ;) --and one of them is "Bench Monday". So, every Monday, I get pelted with photos of feet, shoes, and boots on various benches.

Which brings me around to suggest to you that you may want to consider Flickr, yourself. There are a large number of mothers out there--around the world--who use it as a way to share and interact via words and images. Many of their photos remind me very much of your photos and I think that you would feel kinship with some of them. Here are some examples that I regularly follow just to give you a taste of it:

Plus, one father who likewise focuses on family life:

Some of these individuals are exceptional photographers, but that is why I follow them, of course. But there are countless others who are still learning the art.

Aside from the interactive social/sharing aspects, involving yourself in Flickr is also a powerful way to strengthen your photography skills and find inspiration.

And it would be awesome to see you there.

Sorry for this off-topic comment.

Talk to you later...

thanks for the links. i used to use flicker for muffin tin monday and laptop lunchbox inspiration, but at this time i do not have any interest nor time to post to flicker. i post pictures on FB to share with friends, and my blog is essentially an online memory book to supplement the boys' scrapbooks & photo books.

That is so funny, because I was thinking of that yesterday, Muffin Tin Monday!
