Expanding Our Horizons

As a result of the flooding at Castlewood, we were forced to find new waterways to explore today. We headed to Rockwoods Reservation and hiked a portion of the Lime Kiln Trail.
The trail takes you past the old lime kiln and along the spring. Will had endless questions about the lime kiln, while Quinn understood me to say "lion" rather than lime. "No, Quinn, there is not a lion inside that tower." The spring is home to many snails, water striders, and the occasional frog.
After our walk, we explored the very chilly creek near the Creekside Picnic Area where I found two more arrowheads, and Will found a couple of crystals and many "perfect skipping rocks.".
