Cheesecloth Ghost Tutorial

At Cara's Request . . .

Materials: piece of cheesecloth, white glue, balloons, cups, black construction paper or felt, sandwich bag or bowl, string, paperclips

Directions:
Blow up balloon to size of ghost you desire. (Before tying the balloon, check to see how the cheesecloth drapes over the balloon. May need to add or let out some air.)
Stand the balloon in the cup.
Pour approximately 1/4c. glue into plastic bag or bowl.
Dip whole piece of cheesecloth into the glue.
Drape the wet cheesecloth over the balloon while unfolding any double layers.
Attach paper or felt eyes, mouths, etc.
Allow the "ghost" to dry overnight.
Using a straight pin or scissors pop the balloon.
Carefully remove the deflated balloon from the hardened cheesecloth.
Use string and paperclips to hang ghost from the ceiling or stand it up for a tablescape.
