An Art Space

We used to keep the scissors, markers, glue, paints, and crayons on a high shelf in a hall closet, as my two curious and creative boys needed adult supervision with such supplies. Feeling like the boys were ready for a little more artistic freedom, I recently set up my old computer desk as the boys' new "Art Space." I decorated the wall above the desk with their framed artwork, some of my own childhood artwork, and a few other pieces of inspiration.

While I have not been brave enough to break out the paints or glue just yet, the desk houses crayons, markers, scissors, paper, colored masking tape, shape templates, and a collection of Ed Emberley drawing books; and at the easel the boys have chalk and dry erase markers. Lots of creating is happening in their new space, and this mama feels happy!
