Now that the acorns no longer cover the ground, the boys have taken to gathering pine cones. It started with a plan to make pine cone Christmas trees, but by the time we had glued on the last sequin and bead we had fallen in love with pine cones. They come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures.
At the park today we found the cutest little pine cones. The boys had so much fun trying to find the smallest pine cone. "Look at this cute one!" "This is so little. It is a baby pine cone."
Just as with our boot full of acorns, we have no real plan for our growing basket of pine cones. For now they serve as the centerpiece on our dining table.
