Rest in Peace

Papa Fish died overnight. Quinn did not seem affected by the death of his fish. His first response was, "How 'bout I get a new fish?" Will, on the other hand, took it a little harder. He asked that we hold a funeral for Papa Fish. He asked Grandma for a box and had me line it with kleenex just as Sister Bear did when her goldfish, Goldie, died. Once placed inside the box, Will asked each person if they wanted to say anything to Papa Fish. He chose a rock from outside and asked me to write "Papa Fish" on it. He gathered the shovel and dug a small hole. While Daddy played "Amazing Grace" on the violin (at Will's request), he placed Papa Fish in the ground. Will filled in the hole and carefully placed the rock on the dirt.

"Papa Fish was such a good fish! We are going to miss him. I think Grandpa and Ms. Coleen and Snickers will care for him in heaven."
