Quinnie Blue at 3 . . .

  • drives his Fisher Price Little People Zoo train around the house loaded with his horses, Will's bunnies, and the airport cab driver as the engineer.
  • asks for his "animals" immediately entering the family room in the morning.
  • loves to swing.
  • asks often to go to Target to "buy more animals" - must buy stock in Schleich!
  • tells stories of a boy named Noah.
  • greets other Dierbergs customers with a loud repetitive "Hello!" shouted from the driver's seat of the rocketship cart.
  • fears doctors, dentists, and haircuts.
  • adores his big brother.
  • digs, fills, pours, and dumps sand.
  • yells "Welcome to Circus Flora!" and begins performing "tricks" - somesaults, tumbling, jumping.
  • gallops through life.
  • chooses "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" as his bedtime story 5 out of 7 nights a week.
  • talks about driving a bulldozer.
  • tucks his screwdriver into the waistband of his underwear.
  • uses his shovel to dig holes in the yard to "build a foundation."
  • taught himself to use the potty.
  • asks, "Sir, do you need anything to be fixed?"
  • wears Will's pink Cardinals hat backwards and "work gloves."
  • tells us "Don't bother me. I am going poop."
  • requests the song "Good Dog Blue" on repeat.
  • imagines anything and everything is some sort of construction equipment . . . my arm becomes an "excabator" and a straw is a "big crane."
  • asks repeatedly, "why he wearing a helmet?" when watching the Cardinals game.
  • drags out bedtime for what feels like an eternity.
  • rides his "steel two wheeler" with training wheels.
  • greets all of the neighbors.
  • pretends to be the newspaper delivery man by rolling up little scraps of paper, running through the house, and throwing them while yelling, "Newspaper!"
  • is perfecting the art of working out problems and compromising with his older brother. "Will, I know a plan! How about . . ."
  • requests to see the elk and bison at Lone Elk anytime we are in the vicinity of 44 & 141.
  • loves the color yellow, but likes to wear his "chocolate brown" or "naby blue" shirts.
  • snuggles, kisses, and hugs spontaneously.
  • started planning his Goldilocks & the 3 Bears themed birthday party 4 months ago.
  • picks up and holds our pet mice Mortimer and Ralph.
  • digs for worms.
  • looks forward to his first Cardinals game.
  • announces grouchily "I am ready to get up!" immediately after waking.
  • negotiates with me. "Mommy! PLEEEEASE! Mom-my! Mom-my!"
  • waits for the pitched ball to hit the ground before taking a swing.
  • refuses help much of the time.
  • is persistent.
  • dreams about monsters in the attic.
  • wishes he could climb up and see our attic.
  • names many of his toy horses including the large stuffed one from Circus Flora "Nipples."
  • is super polite.
  • recalls an event from the past asking, "Remember that?"
  • is truly my sunshine!
  • might be growing older, but he will ALWAYS be my baby.
