Gone Fishin'

For months Will has talked about going fishing - more specifically going fishing with Anna and Brian. For his birthday, Anna and Brian gave Will a pink (still his favorite color) fishing pole and tackle box complete with hooks, lures, and bobbers. This morning we braved the rain and took Will for his first fishing experience. The morning went as I had predicted . . . Will expected to catch a fish upon his hooked worm entering the water, and when there was no immediate bite he was quick to change to a different spot. Brian was SUPER patient with Will reminding him that your hook has to be in the water to catch a fish.
While Will impatiently moved his line from one place to another, Quinn passed the time by re-homing the worms from their styrofoam boxes to an open compartment in the tackle box.
Despite not actually catching a fish, Will had a good time.
In the end, he decided with one fishing trip under his belt he was some sort of professional. Will told Anna and Brian, "I don't need you anymore. I know how to fish now."
