The Pumpkin Patch

"Quinn there's a lot of people, so you need to hold my hand when we walk over to the squeaky car train."

All aboard the "squeaky car train!"

Quinn driving the tractor.

Will taking a pony ride.

Cool pictures--what pumpkin patch did you go to?

against my better judgement we went to rombach's. we attempted to go to the simple local church pumpkin patch, but despite the sign in the church yard "Pumpkin Patch October 11-31 Open Daily" they were not open yet. the boys were really psyched about getting pumpkins, and we already have plans to go to pumpkinland at thies farms with friends; so i felt i was left with very few options. rombach's was very expensive, and you pay separately for each activity. the pony ride was $5, and the "squeaky car train" ride cost $3. the boys wanted to do the hayride, but i was not willing to pay $15 for us to ride on a wagon around the farm. we did not end up getting pumpkins because they were also really expensive. dierbergs is selling pumpkins for $4.97. the same size pumpkins are $7-$9 at rombach's. it will cost us $16.50 to get into pumpkinland at thies, and a hayride and small pumpkin is included in that cost. i do not regret going because the boys enjoyed themsleves, but i will not return to the overly commercialized patch again next year. i will end my rombach's rant now. :0)
