Water Main in the Rain

A water main along the street behind our house broke late Thursday night. Apparently a muddy geyser is no cause for alarm, as the water company arrived around 9am to begin repair work. Thankfully our water supply was not interrupted. We only learned of the break when the boys heard the "BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" of a truck in reverse.

The dumptruck is on his way to get more rock. The hole was larger than they had estimated. Perhaps if the response time was a bit sooner so much of the earth would not have washed down the street.

The frontloader pushes the rock and mud back into the hole.

The mud is scraped from the grass.

Two days later, Will is "replacing a broken pipe" near our back patio after a "water main break."
