Fairy House
Fairy Houses . . . Everywhere arrived at our house today. After admiring the gorgeous photographs and ingenious houses, the boys and I were immediately inspired to build our own fairy house within our Forsythia Forest. We started with the house first - a teepee inspired structure of branches and evergreens. We covered the floor of the house with forsythia leaves and pink azalea blooms. We added a few stepping stones just outside the door. Will desperately wanted the house for himself.
"Can I climb inside?"
"It is a bit small. You have this whole forest to roam."
"Oh! Quinnie, we not can live in this house. It is too little."
Will suggested the fairies would need a bridge to cross the river, and it became a cooperative effort. Quinn gathered the sticks, I trimmed them to size, and Will laid them out just so. In the yard, we constructed a small fairy chair alongside a field of wildflowers.
"Can fairies share their house?" Will wondered.
"With who?"
"Bunnies, birdies, ladybugs, squirrels, and worms can live there too."
"Yes, I think fairies would welcome other creatures into their home."
