Yesterday Will decided he wanted to go to the "animal park" for a picnic with Mommy, Daddy, Quinnie, and Grandma. After preparing a lunch, we all packed into the car. We arrived at the park and drove until finding what appeared to be a great spot to eat. Unfortunately we were greeted by mosquitoes almost immediately. Of course the little blood suckers did not phase the boys, nor did they bite Grandma. JJ and I were the immediate targets. We ate our lunch rather quickly, Will hiked the hill a bit, and Quinn chased the geese before getting back into the safety of our pest-free car. Thankfully, Lone Elk is a great "drive-thru" park. We saw a number of turtles basking in the sun, a lone elk resting in the woods, several bison wading in the pond, and geese around every turn. We enjoyed our picnic, but next time we will consider a park not so near the recently flooded Meramec River!
