Menage a Trois?

The pair of mallards returned this morning after a three day hiatus. Shortly after they arrived, another male mallard appeared. The pair was waddling around in the forsythia while the other male wandered aimlessly through the yard quacking. It was as if he was asking, "Hey guys? Where did you go?" His calls were met with silence. Eventually Madison and Piper heard all of the quacking and flushed all three out of the yard.
